On behalf of the Men of Essex, Inc., our sincere thanks for your historic legacy of support and for taking the time to consider co-sponsorship of the 58th Annual Men of Essex Golf Classic.  We are very excited about this year’s Classic, as it will be held once again at the beautiful Cedar Hill Golf & Country Club in Livingston, New Jersey on Monday, August, 13th (please see attached/enclosed brochure and sponsorship listing). We will pay tribute to the pioneering jazz broadcasting 38-year legacy of WBGO –88.3 FM (www.wbgo.org) Mid-Day Host and avid golfer Rhonda Hamilton.

For the past 59 years, the Men of Essex has been at the forefront of assisting students achieve their higher education aspirations and recognizing outstanding scholastic and athletic achievement. This year, marks our 60th anniversary.
We have a proud legacy of unsurpassed excellence to the 22 communities in Essex County, New Jersey and, we are on a mission to leverage 59 years of service equity to continue to help meet the increasing need to provide financial assistance to those deserving students who are pursuing their goals and dreams at institutions of higher education throughout this great nation.

As a service organization of professional men – this has been our primary purpose to serve as mentors and as a conduit to a better future for our young people.   
The Men of Essex is one of New Jersey's oldest African-American charitable organizations dedicated to bettering the lives of residents in the Greater Essex County community. 
 
With the continued support of our sponsors, the Men of Essex Golf Classic (“The Classic”) has proudly grown to become one of the most successful and most-anticipated fundraising events of the summer season.  More than $300,000 has been raised to through the years to support our mission of recognizing student-athletes for their achievements and supporting their higher education aspirations via our Student Aid Fund. 

We anticipate sunny skies and a blissful afternoon for all.  The proceeds from The Classic will benefit our Student Aid Fund, which has supported the higher education goals of many deserving young men and women from Essex County.
As we prepare for another year of assisting students-athletes in the Greater Essex area, we have set our sights on raising $100,000. We invite you to partner with us in accomplishing this goal. As a supporter, your organization will be directly impacting the lives of many of New Jersey’s top students who go on to become great corporate leaders and solid contributors to their respective communities. You will also be partnering with one of the most influential African-American leadership organizations in the area, with members who range from state and local elected officials, corporate business leaders and successful entrepreneurs.

We ask that you consider partnering with us as a ‘Title’ or ‘Co-Sponsor’ for our Annual Golf Classic (Sponsorship Levels and details are listed on the following page).  It will be a spectacular day of golf, and an opportunity to mingle with several of our members and many of our civic partners, local business merchants and leaders in the corporate business community.
The Men of Essex is a 501[C] [3] non-profit organization. Contributions and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
